Peanut Ginger Chutney |
Ingredients
1 cup peanuts1/4 cup channa dhall/bengal gram dhall
10-12 dry red chillies (spicy variety)
2 inch ginger piece
tiny ball of tamarind
jaggery - small piece
1 tbsp grated coconut
salt
Method
- In a skillet heat a little oil.
- Roast the peanuts until crisp and keep aside.
- Roast the channa dhall until golden brown. Take care not to burn them.
- Roast the dry red chillies until the pungency is lost and they are lightly crisp.
- Mix all these and cool for about 10 - 15 mins
- Blend into a coarse powder by adding ginger,salt,jaggery and tamarind.
- Add in the grated coconut,little water and grind the chutney.
- Check the salt and add if needed.
