Chopped vegetables such as onions,carrots,cucumber,tomatoes are added to the whipped yogurt and served as an accompaniment to flavored rice such as Pulavs,Biryanis,Parathas,Rotis(Indian breads) etc.

Ingredients
2 cups fresh curd / yogurt1 cucumber finely chopped
1 onion finely chopped
1 tomato chopped (de seed and chop)
1 tsp cumin powder
1/2 tsp pepper powder
salt
pinch of sugar
chopped corriander /cilantro
Method
- Beat the curd well.If its too thick,add about 2 tbsp of water and beat well.
- Add all the chopped vegetables,salt,sugar,cumin and pepper powder and mix well.
- Garnish with corriander and serve.
Notes
- You can make raita with individual veggies also if you don't like the combination of vegetables.
- For spice lovers,finely chopped green chillies can also be added. It enhances the flavor of the raita.
- Grated carrots or radish can also be used to make raita.
